Going through and thought i might find someone in the same boat.Does anyone have advice own divorice/spouse support?
Depends...Are you somehow incapacitated to work? If there's nothing wrong with you, then you probably won't get any. However, if you have been living luxurious and all of a sudden you find yourself going through a divorce, the judge will probably grant you spousal support for a period of time, so that you can get on your own two feet. If there's children involved, don't use them to spite your soon to be ex. That's the lowest thing you can do. If you have proof of your soon to be ex cheating, GET IT! It will help your credibility alot in court, and the judge will be on your side. If your soon to be ex is verbally or physically abusive, get proof, use a tape recorder or camcorder, again it will help you in court. Also, don't be a golddigger, if your ex makes 50K a year, dont ask for 2K a month in child or spousal support. Be reasonable in everything, if you and your soon to be ex have bills together, split them, don't expect them to pay everything. Don't burden someone with all that debt if it was created by both of you, regardless of what happened to spawn the divorce, recognize that the debt was a joint effort.
